The Entertainment IDentifier Registry (EIDR) is a system dedicated to keeping track of entertainment content.

Right now, A LOT of entertainment content is being created. Getting this content to consumers is extremely complex and involves many different people and processes. Without a standard way of keeping track of each piece of work, it becomes almost impossible to process large amounts of content.

EIDR provides a globally unique way to identify any piece of entertainment content. Using EIDR, it is possible to create a unique digital record of every piece of content. Each records contains identifying information such as cast and crew, release year, and more. A globally unique EIDR ID is created for each record.
